(DNSC-C) Paediatric Nutrition for Dietitians

Synopsis

This on-line course has been developed for qualified dietitians who wish to extend their knowledge in the management of paediatric dietetics. It is recommended that dietitians have at least one year of clinical experience before undertaking this course. If students or dietitians with less than one year of experience wish to complete these modules, they must be supervised and supported by a dietitian who is currently working in paediatrics.

Course Overview

These modules can be used towards the Dietitians Association of Australia's (DAA) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) assessed activities as part of the Accrediting Practicing Dietitian(APD) program. It is the responsibility of the learner to retain documentation should they wish to log this CPD activity.

 

Expected completion time:         

3-6 hours per module – approximately 30 hours in total

Format:

This online course consists of 7 learning modules, some of which are broken down into multiple parts.  Each learning module uses powerpoint slides, self-guided reading (references), multi-choice quizzes, short answer case studies and additional activities to assist the student’s learning.  Each module can be completed independently, although it is recommended that Modules 1-4 are completed successively.

 

Assessment:
  • Automatically graded multiple choice questions with clinical rationale provided to support the answer you selected (correct or incorrect). The clinical rationale is highlighted in red text and will be displayed once the quiz has been submitted
  • Case study with answers and clinical rationales provided
  • Learning activities to extend knowledge or practical skills
